Opinion on single men wearing a \"wedding ring\"
I have a job interview tomorrow for a fairly well paying office job. Even though I'm a single guy, I'll be wearing my silver "wedding band" on my ring finger during the interview. I've found that people perceive those that are married to be more stable and reliable then single people. Since image is almost everything in an interview, I don't have this problem with this little bit of deception. Besides, they are making the assumption that I'm married it's not like I'm lying to them.
I've seen people do this in everyday life as well. There seems to be a general consensus amongst people that I know that wearing a wedding as a man results in better overall treatment in day to day life. When I bought my "wedding ban" even the good-looking girl behind the counter agreed that I would be treated better. So, does anyone else do this? What are your feelings about this in general? How do women feel about this? |
