Glad to see this movie getting so much love, my buddy was the Associate Producer. Here's what he said for the release, which is August 17th:
The release of KONG is limited, so the opening weekend cities are Austin, LA, NY, and Seattle. The following weekend will be:

Berkeley
Boston
Chicago
Minneapolis
San Diego
San Francisco
Washington, DC

FYI Austinites- The Alamo on South Lamar is having a DK tournaments before screenings. Winner of the finals gets to keep the actual arcade machine.
