Unusaul First Date

So, I had plans to go out on Thursday with a girl I just met. Yesterday, I get a call from a good friend's wife (wife is good friend too). My good friend is out of town on business and wife has to work. No one is available to watch their 4 year old son. 4 year old likes me for some reason and has requested that I watch him. I agree without realizing that it conflicts with my existing plans, and hate to renege so I just plan on calling my date to reschedule. I call her and leave a voicemail explaining the situation. She calls back and says:

That's so weird you have this problem. I mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. I have to watch the girl I mentor that night. Why don't we keep our plans and take them somewhere to play while we talk?

I've agreed to this, but it's still kind of weird. What kind of impression am I giving out here. Sensitive sweet guy? Weird single guy who hangs out with 4 year olds? This is a new one here.
