I just got owned...(Isle of Capri Lake Charles)
Monday night is slow and there's only one 5/5 game running. I play a relatively short session (6 hours), and the game slacks off so I cash out. On my way out, I grab a [censored] $8.50 salad and then proceed to the parking garage.
I hear a relatively familiar car alarm coming from where I park my car, and when I approach I see 3 security guards and a cop surrounding my vehicle. As I approach the cop asks, "well who did you piss off?" "huh?" "well did you have anything valuable in your car?" "no..." Then I see what he's referring to. My passenger side window had a small log thrown through it. "uh...I take that back. I had my phone and debit card inside... It's a $600 phone." My nervousness abates when I check my center console and see both my debit card and my phone there. The cop was pretty cool, he basically told me straight up that filing a report probably won't matter and that he couldn't do much. He also pointed out that both my sticker and license expired over a year ago, and that I should probably check into getting them renewed. I play poker daily, but most of the regulars who know me are old people and I've offended none of them. On top of that, I don't know how anybody in there could possibly identify my vehicle out of the several hundred in the garage. Then it's a Monday night, and nobody left the poker game immediately before me. And if this was somebody I know personally this would've been done at my home, not in a casino parking garage...so I am guessing it was some random act of (whatever). The cop tells me that I should tell the Isle that maybe putting security cameras in the garage would be a good idea, and I realize this echoes with the standard [censored] casino policy. Casino's protect their own asses, not yours. They don't give a [censored] about you. Hundreds of camera's inside, but they are there to protect the casino's assets. You walk out the door, and there's none. Nothing of value to them is out there... I've also heard that a few poker players have been mugged out there. Anybody have any experience like this? |
