Default Re: Tell the worst TURNING PRO STORY you have heard.

The story we'll Call him pokerplayer7 (prima name)

He is a good friend of mine who i've known since junior high where we play bball together, super shy korean kid, I would have to pass the ball in the games and yell at him to shoot for him to do so, and he always made it but was to nervous or some [censored]. Anyways him and I and a group of trouble makers would play cards every day and big time on the weekends. All type of table games, bj, jakes or better, stud ranging from $10-500 pots.

This kid would play with us and donate every time 20 here 50 there, I don't think he had a winning session in the 3 years of constent play. One day out of the blue he logs onto prima poker network and gets his free $10 bucks. I don't see him for a month, when i see him again he tells me how he's turned that 10 into 10k already winning a couple big tournies and playing in mid stacks cash games. few months after that he is having insane stomach pains, turns out 16hours a day multi tabling with mcdonalds diet is a recipe for gal stones. He quits poker and tries some rediculous remadies because he doesn't want surgery on top of the fact that he doesn't have medical insurance (which doesn't make sense for his level of income).

So now he's still kicking after no surgery and about 2 gallons of water a day with a better diet, plays on bodog 5/10 every couple of months to reload his spending money and lives off of ebay for the most part. Now he hangs around on myspace and talks with all the young weird girls and goes out 4 days a week, while I sit home and multi table micros. I used to be the crazy one going out and talking about girls, and he was the one talking about poker and being the hermit. I don't know what is sadder me or him, probably me. Oh and he hates poker and lives at home so I have no idea what to do to help him move on with his life.

Anyways. My story constant winner live, constant break even player online, and I don't know what I wanta do with poker, been playing for 8 years about and on average 3 hours a day for the last 5 years. Might stay at the casino, just can't get passed $100max online, but do fine 2/5 $500 max live. No job but I have a degree. whatever.
