I really think this is wrong.
A lot of these guys cruise around the net semi-regularly for some gullible girls of various ages.
Some of the people on the Predator programs have prior arrests/convictions for similar violations.

Any guy who is using some of that language with what he believes to be a 12-year-old girl is not at all 'mostly harmless' imo.

And listening to the parts of the chat that Hansen reads it sounds very much like the girl partly baits them with some pretty leading language but nothing too pornographic and next thing you know the guy is jumping in and talking about doing it 'doggie-style' and the girl is all 'tee-hee...what's that?' and then the guy talks about how he's going to do this and that and the other things to them.


Yeah, the girls are obviously kind of teases and are trying to entice them in some ways.
But the language that these guys use with the 12-year-old girls is so much more disgusting than what the girl is saying which is usually more along the lines of, "hmmm...can you show me?"

For some reason I'm under the impression that not a lot of them have prior convictions. I could be wrong though, and if I was, then this could be helping more than I originally thought.

Also, again maybe I'm being ignorant, but wouldn't the filthy language scare off most girls in the 12-14 year old range? When I picture a girl that young that would actually be willing to meet guys in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and even 50s, I picture some lonely, confused girl without a lot of friends, possibly with daddy issues. She's not cruising the the net looking for some guy to send her penis pictures and tell her he's going to anally invade her. She's going to be way more susceptible to some smooth talker that doesn't initially talk nasty to her, and gains her trust, and tries to make sexual advances much much later, once he has the girl somewhat brainwashed. A lot of these guys on the show are totally out of touch with what these young girls are really looking for. They extrapolate their own sexual desires onto the girl.

I must have missed the last thread on this. I see this has already been talked about to death so this will probably be my last post on the matter.

Note: certainly not trying to defend these guys in any way and they get what they deserve. Just trying to make a point that I don't think this is as helpful to stopping child predators as they make it out to be.
