FT 100NL 6max - best plan to get away from a moderately strong hand?
Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)
Hero (SB): $103.50 BB: $140.40 UTG: $113.00 CO: $276.60 BTN: $33.95 Preflop: Hero is dealt 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 Players) UTG calls $1.00, CO folds, BTN calls $1.00, Hero calls $0.50, BB checks Flop: ($4) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 Players) Hero bets $5.00, BB raises to $13.00, 2 folds, Hero raises to $34.50, BB raises all-in to $139.40, Hero folds Uncalled bet of $104.90 returned to BB Pot Size: $73.00 ($3 Rake) not sure what people think of this preflop, but the two limpers were my two fishies, and i've been working on completing more in the SB with semi-playable hands as i've found many of the big winners in this game are doing a lot of that. the BB looks to be a very solid player. 16/12 and a solid winrate over 2k datamined hands. we have no history. when i bet and he made a tiny raise, alarm bells went off in my head. i really thought about just folding the hand right there, but that seemed too weak. so i thought about calling and reevaluating on the turn. i really can't explain why i didn't feel this was the correct play. it just didn't "feel" like a good spot for that. if you agree, could you explain the correct thought process and rationale for reaching that conclusion? i finally ended up deciding to reraise planning to fold to a push. in the heat of the moment i just decided to use the 2/3 button of the betpot script. so, the first question is whether this was a good plan? the 2nd question is: what's a good way to quickly determine the right amount to raise to in my head in a spot like this while i'm timing down? |
