NLTRN - getting started

NL donks,

i browsed the FAQ and have been getting a feel for a few threads and concepts. i'm mostly new to NL but am also uninterested in learning the game other than in a 1-1 format [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img].

my plan thus far is to learn about SAGE, ICM, and read some stuff from the 'ship it poker' blog. a few players i know also [censored] around with the 1-1 NL so i'll pick their brain and also occasionally bother some people on the chatlist (this has already happened to some of you, sorry).

are there any other good things to start out with? everybody has jman (or whatever) as their avatar and i think i read somewhere that jman did some thing for HU NL but i dont remember the details.

generally my plan is to read up and study for a week or so and then start playing really small buy-in SNGs (maybe cash but i doubt it for now) to get a feel for things.

the video that just got posted seems like a great starting place, altho it is about cash games instead of SNGs it will still give me some insight into the thought process of 1-1 NL decision-making and i'm excited to give it some attention later.

i have a friend with card-runners - are there worthwhile 1-1 NL videos on there that i should watch? the only book that i'd trust about NL is TAP - is that a good place to start or a little too advanced? are there well-known blogs where people post strat?

finally, are there any players on here who wouldnt mind showing me the ropes? as i stated earlier i'm mostly looking for help with SNGs but cash-game specialists would surely have a lot to offer me, as well. i don't really have the bankroll to pay for a good deal of coaching but it might be worth my time/money to buy a few hours from somebody who has good reviews and will work with me at a fairly quick pace (i think i learn fast but maybe not lol) to get me started (as opposed to siphoning my money which i assume most coaches do *NOTE*not you leader, <3*NOTE*).

if some of this is secret info BUT you'd be okay telling me, i welcome PMs or AIM discussion (SN duppyhero).

if it's all a secret and you can't afford to have another 2p2er in the sea of HU games, i don't judge (the 1-1 LHE people are easily the most secretive group of players i am aware of).
