Deco was born in Brazil, but it's very likely that his parents/ grandparents/ whatever were from Portugal, and Portuguese people are usually classified as white. But then again most Portuguese people, like many Southern Europeans, are pretty dark because of the Moorish influence on Southern Europe. also, Zidane is a berber, right? berbers are usually pretty light-skinned. Their link to brown-skinned people like Arabs are based more on language and religion than they are on genetics. I think this thread highlights the ridiculousness of classifying people into a few narrow ethnic categories. Just my $0.02 |
