Default Talking about play while not in the hand...How would you handle this?

I was playing 3/6 HE at Borgata last week. The table had two decent players, and the rest were below average (including the two I am about to mention).

At the river, I was in the pot heads-up with an ace-high flush (no paired board or SF possible). I bet out, got raised, and I (naturally) re-raised. The other player was about to re-raise me when the guy next to him says "what are you doing, he probably has the nuts!" So he just calls and lays down a king-high flush.

It takes a lot to get me going, but I figure this cost me several large bets. The dealer did nothing and I yelled for the floor and explained my situation. They warned the guy not to do that again. Was I wrong to do this because he was not that great a player? I felt that this was a case where the integrity of the game had to be maintained somewhat.

Your thoughts, please.

Thanks,

Nat
