Default Men Talk as Much as Women?

I've been meaning to make a post about how damn much my wife talks. Specifically, every morning I get what I call "The Dream Report". As soon as she wakes up she must immediately describe to me all of her dreams. I'm assuming this is a common thing women do, since every one that I've woken up with on a regular basis (OK, both of them) has done it. Anyway, then I see this:

This study says that women don't really talk much more than men.

I'm not buying it. The article says that all the subjects of the study were students, but I wonder if other variables are at play: employment, course of study, etc.

Thoughts?
