Default Beat: Crippled my stack playing wrong game in the $1000 SHOE tourney

Ok, so I was playing the WSOP $1000 SHOE tourney Monday night and it was about 6.5 hours in. I was about even stacked and playing/feeling good (for me at least) when I picked up my first wheel draw of the entire night.

Those of you who play Stud 8OB know this is a very good starting hand, so I of course proceeded to play it, putting in as much action as possible. Unfortunately the game was Stud Hi only and so my smooth 64 was scooped by an opponents unimproved kings. Oops.

I survived another 30 minutes, but never really recovered from this play. Maybe next time I will think twice about playing in an event that is scheduled to last till 3 a.m. when I am jet lagged (just returned from vacation in India 3 days ago) and had been up since 7 am, including a 5 hour drive to Las Vegas (Lost Wages) from LA.

That is all.
