BEAT: totally undecided on what my next car will be
so im in the process of buying a new car. well not brand new, but new to me.
ive owned an original vw rabbit gti, a heavily modified vw corrado VR6, and now an E36 M3. i want something with 4 doors, factory turbo, manual tranny, and fun to drive. looking to spend $20-23K. the candidates are below. heres my current ride: 95 M3 brag: - 3.5" maf, big injectors, software, exhaust, coilovers, sways bars etc - one of teh best handling cars ive driven - ~230 hp to the wheels - still one of the hottest looking cars on the road beat: -only 230 whp, aftermarket FI start at 8k -130K miles -stupid coolant leak/overheating problem that NOBODY can seem to figure out -2 doors is getting to be a pain -parts and labor are stupid expensive variance: on separate occasions have had a mirror, grill, and side skirt stolen or failed attempt to steal candidate #1 '03-'05 Subaru STi brag: -rediculously fast -capable of making huge power -capable chassis beat -fugly. bugeyed, ricer wing candidate #2 '01-'02 audi S4 brag: -dead sexy looks, "grown up" -cheapest car of the 3 -comfortable -300hp is only a chip away -can make really big power, good after market -im pretty familair with the VAG aftermarket, have lots of connections/friends with vw's and audi's beat -handles like a pig. i'd have to have coilovers ordered before i even bought the car -sluggish stock, really heavy -$$$$for parts, $$$$$$for labor, a bitch to work on -will have way more miles on average than the sti or evo variance -completely walked one of these on the highway in the M3. he was prob stock. got spanked by one in the corrado candidate #3 '03-'05 MitsubishiEvo VIII brag - best handling car you can buy for the money. only car of the group that can turn faster lap times completely stock than my M3 - already quick with big aftermarket, cheap and easy to tune with huge potential - engine has been around for a long time and has proven to be bullet proof -awesome brakes -cheap parts/labor compared to my current car beat -boy racer looks, ricer wing -cheap interior variance - had a bone stock evo pull away from me by ~2 carlengths in a 65-120mph highway roll on so what you think? |
