Default pot control vs draw protection vs stack protection OOP

OK, so it seems my trouble with the AQo hand I posted results from some confusion i have with this situation.

Suppose you're heads up or 3 way with a good but not monster hand OOP, like TPTK. Everyone has 100-200 BB stacks. The pot is raised preflop. What are the best flop and turn lines? How to we protect against draws, but save ourselves from getting stacked? I'm really confused as how top play hands like this.

It seems that if we bet enough to protect our hand on the flop and turn that we can become easily stacked by any two pair/set hand....but if we dont, then we get drawn out on...any advice?
