Default Re: an interesting (?) river situation

I think a check is just as good if not better then a bet. With this board what hands that you beat are going to call a bet? I do not think there are any hands that are going to call you assuming the villians is a decent player. And lets say you do bet and he raises you all in knowing you have an ace, and that your best bet is a split. If he has an ace he has pretty much nothing to worry about (assuming he knows your play means you can only hold a strong ace so A/5 is out of the question. So I do not feel that checking behind is a poor play, you dont lose any value (no worse hands are calling), saves when your beat with the third nuts, and you do not have to be put to the test for your tournament life with the third nuts, calling and praying for a split.

(cash game however, I call his all in all day!)
