My wife is a nurse (manager) works 2 16 hours shifts and 1 8 hour shift a week. No weekends, holidays or overnights - never works a morning following a 16 hour shift. i.e this week she works today 7am-11pm, tomorrow 3pm-11pm and friday 7a-11p. Each week "flips" so that she has a 4 day weekend every other week.

I'd take her schedule in a heartbeat - I think its awesome. Dealing with patients, patients families, death etc.. makes me like my 5 10 hour days a better overall deal for me.
