Default \"I make more than you\"

So today I went to the Padres game with some friends from high school who just moved back home. One of my friends is talking about her new nursing job and how she is going to be working like 3 12.5 hour shifts a week I think she said. Anyways, I was talking about how hard it would be for me to actually find the motivation to play that much poker a week, but I probably could if I really wanted to, and she says this "yeah but I make a lot more money than you do" and I just respond with "really?" and then we start talking about the benefits she gets and whatever and the conversation is quickly forgotten. So is there anything I should have said to her, or did I do ok just by kind of letting it go?

She wasn't being like this at all, but I'm sure there are going to be plenty fresh out of college people that think they are the [censored] because they are going to be making 60k a year, however it seems extremely petty to put them in their place. Anyone have any stories of similar situations they've been in and how they handled it?
