House Committee to Hold Internet Gambling Hearing 6/8

I am surprised that no one has mentioned what I thought was one of the most memorable moments of the hearing, at least as regards humor.

Rep. Bachus introduced a letter from the major sports leagues stating their oppostion to any loosening of gambling regulation.

He said that the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and the NCAA were all concerned with the integrity of their athletes being compromised.

As he handed the letter to Rep. Frank, Barney asked him, "Is this about steroids?"

This went right over Rep. Bachus' head.

"What?" asked Bachus.

"Is this about steriods?" repeated Frank.

The look of dumbfoundment on Bachus' face...PRICELESS!
