brandi, good luck. One thing I want to mention though is that most NL players do not find it necessary to calcula te the exact mathematical equity of their hand. E.g. I raise with aq suited and the flop tc 5c 3h I might 3-bet push shove over a flop raise because I know that I have at least 30% equity against his best possible range and I know I could potentially have much better equity against the worse part of their range. anyway, I think the mathematical part of poker is somewhat hyped up. Not to say it's not the fundamental basis, but rather that u need to be able to know that you have at least like 30% + equity as a minimum in order to put money into a hand(unless your making some sort of unusual bluff move), and then other than that there is a lot of flexibility as to how you play your hands and how you incorporate reads. If that sounds somewhat convoluted, your right it is ha ha.
