Default PLO shortstacking!

i know the hatred of shortstackers people on this forum have of shortstacking which i have a little sympathy for.....

however, my thread is a bit different

My mate has invited me to play PLO at this club in birmingham, england. the blinds are £1/£1 and the min. buyin in £25

i can't afford to play full, but he says he has shortstacked there loads of times and it is very profitable. my online BR is £1,100 and i play almost exclusively NLHE, but i am also competent in most other games. i really just wanna have fun there and not go broke.

1) strategy: play very tight, not open raise with anything, only reraise when you have bad aces and can get your whole stack in PF. otherwise call, and wait til the flop to reduce variance. post flop - just nuts peddle. is this ok. i am in no means an expert at PLO, but apparantly the game is juicy

2)how much shall i take if i want to survive several hours at most. i played 90 hands on the net shortstacking to simulate a night out which is obviously virtually insignificant statistically, but i ended up 3xBI (25BB), and got busted once (AAxx, KKxx PF)
i was thinking of taking £75-£100. so i can also top up a couple of times. does this seem alright

3)is it best just to not go (i haven't played poker in a casino or club before).

PRO's
1)fun
2)profit
3)live experience

CON's
1)busto
2)drunk, smelly, smoking people probably acting like a [censored]
3)travel (1 hour journey to get there)
