the only argument that isnt a vague cover for a belief in white america's racial and cultural hegemony is that illegal immigrants are a net drain on the govt because of their access to social services without paying taxes.

im not entirely an expert on the numbers here, but i have heard it suggested that even this claim is misleading because a decent portion of them are still paying property taxes, sales tax and, if they are reported by their employer, state and federal taxes are deducted from their pay without any chance for them to get the money back in refunds.

most immigrants from europe got into the country through legal means.
