[ QUOTE ]
If I do 10/10/7/4 with 5/25/100/500 should I start with 10/20 or 15/30? Also do most home tourneys have an ante. I've never held one with an ante but I think it might stimulate action in the later rounds as the group I play with tends to play tight. [/ QUOTE ] 1. If you can, try for 15/13/11/3 with 5/25/100/500. That'll impress the boys and reduce changemaking. 2. You could even start 5/10 then 10/20, 15/30, 20/40, 25/50, chip up 5s and big jump to 50/100. Otherwise, I prefer 150BB to start so 10/20 is for me. Again, good players will be impressed. 3. Most standard tournaments go from 100/200 to 100/200 with ante 25. It is a good idea but you should make sure of a standard procedure for anteing. E.g., dealer collects all antes before dealing the cards. If you have beginners and the button deals (i.e. dealer rotates), then this may slow things down but what the hell, they have to learn eventually. |
