Default Found Tahoe mixed game...

I know a lot of people on here like to play mixed games, so I thought I'd post this.

Yesterday (Friday) at about 3:00 I strolled into the MonteBleau poker room in Tahoe and found a 1-2 blind pot limit dealer's choice game going on. When I sat down the game was five handed. It would have been six but one guy refused to play anything but hold 'em. Among the games played...

Double flop omaha hi. Same as regular omaha except there are two flops dealt at once, followed by two turns and then two rivers. The pot is split between the winner of each board.

Double flop hold 'em. See above.

Omaha hi/lo. Pot limit omaha hi/lo is my favorite game and I've never had a chance to play it in a casino, so this was awesome for me.

Tahoe Pitch & Roll. Plays like 7 stud hi/lo except you are dealt four down cards to start. You must then discard one and choose one to turn face up. There is a round of betting. You are then dealt two cards face up and there is a round of betting. You are dealt two more cards with a round of betting after each, and the last card is dealt face up, unlike traditional 7 card stud.

Players take turns choosing a game with a new game being chosen every time the button passes the dealer. It sounds like they are willing to deal pretty much anything, and one dealer even told me I could "make up a game" and they would deal that. Not sure if that is kosher with the gaming commission, but that's what I was told.

Again, all games are played pot limit with a 1-2 blind. On Friday the game lasted a good two hours before going to exclusively hold 'em to appease the hold 'em-only player, because at that point we would have been playing 3 handed if we played anything else. I was told by the regulars that the game usually does not go on Fridays, and that it's regular time is every Sunday starting at 6:00 PM. I was told that they usually have a full table on Sundays.

The game was a lot of fun and there was some good action. If anybody is ever in Tahoe looking to play mixed games, I recommend it. If you do plan on hitting it up and want a heads up on how some of the regulars play, message me. :-)
