Default Stars 27s: Improving itm distribution

So I have a decent sample of my recent playing style at the stars 27s (2k games). My itm distribution is as follows:

1st 14.5
2nd 11.5
3rd 11.1

Being that the payouts are topheavy, it seems reasonable to try to take more thirds which in turn would increase my firsts and bring down my 2nds. Anyone have some rough examples of 3-handed situations where it might be advisable to go for a bit cheekier double up in order to take a stab at the first? Thanks much.
