A first.
This happened on my way from Boston to New York last Tuesday night.
I had already played the Foxwoods 20/40 on Thur/Fri and did reasonably well. I had some time to kill on my way home and decided to stop in and play for a few (my few is much longer than mosts few) hours. I called the poker room and they told me there were two games going, open seating. Perfect I thought, a late night tired game. I turned off 95s around 230 and after parking, peeing, and getting ready I was amped to play. BUT! There was only one table, a quiet table, a full table. I looked at the list and there was one name already up. I recognized all the players and promptly decided to leave without playing a hand. Normally in this situation I'll play 10/20 or some no limit or whatever. But here, I was proud of the fact that the table was not worth my time. I hope that one day this decision will not take any effort. That I will be able to look at the table say to myself "you know what? Tomorrow's another day. This table sucks." Right now though, it still takes a lot of effort. |
