Default Re: Killer nic super network card - good for Poker??

[ QUOTE ]
I rarely get lag from my one connection. It's pretty sick that Soul Rebel has a dual WAN router with 2 different connections and still has problems.

Let me go ahead and describe in detail what I am experiencing. I have 2 connections, Bellsouth DSL and Time Warner cable. I have a Dell Core 2 Duo with 2 gigs of ram and a raptor hard drive that I bought in October, it has the stock network card. My router is a Xincom that I paid $250 for last summer. I'm in the middle of a move, so I've just had the cable modem for the last week. I have since seen how often it goes out, probably 3 times daily for about 4 minutes average. The DSL is obviously much more reliable, so I use it as my primary connection (wan 1).

The problem I experience is that for maybe 10 seconds every 2 hours or so, all the action at my tables will freeze, sometimes its shorter, sometimes its maybe 20 or 30 seconds. Then everything resumes as it was and the connection is stable again. This has been going on for a few months. I just don't want this happening, if it happens in the middle of a $2k pot, I could be screwed. It sounds like a multi-port NIC is not the way to go? Do you guys have any other suggestions? Once again, I am very appreciative of the help.
