Misreading board in live game cost me $$
Weird thing happened to me last night.
9/18 Commerce, Live I'm in mid position with QJ[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I open Raise PF, about 5 callers. Flop is 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Damn! I flopped the nuts! BB checks to me, I check (planning on popping the turn) A guy after me bets, button raises, all call. Turn is 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check, button raises, BB calls, I re-raise, all call (WTF?) River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB bets, I raise, all fold to BB who 3 bets, I 4 bet, he 5 bets all in. I say "I think we're chopping" and I flip over my QJ with the nut straight. He flips over A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] And everyone says "Flush". I say "huh??" I Look at the river. No, it wasn't the 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] it was the 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I can't for the life of me figure out why I saw a heart instead of a diamond - it was an expensive mistake. Anyone else ever experience this? AB |
