Default Tougher Games... 6 week losing streak Normal?

I have a friend who has been beating Small Stakes NL for about 2.5 years.

For the last half of 2006 he was beating UB NL200 games for about 5-6 BB/100 and was successfully venturing into some 400NL.

Anyways he's on a 6ish week losing streak now & I was wondering if this could be normal or what to tell him.
I considered him a better player than myself & I've never gone on a losing streak anything like this (yet).

He's been playing NL100 & still losing/breaking even & winning modestly at NL50 the last couple weeks.

I think he's on mega-mondo-tilt and not playing as well as he thinks he is but I dunno what to tell him.

Can the increase in difficulty of the games explain this or is he just running horrible/tilting simultaneously? Are 6-week losing streaks normally possible (for a winning plyaer)6-tabling 20-30 hours a week?

I want to help my friend figure out what's wrong/build up his confidence a little.

Maybe he needs to switch off of UB or something?
