Cop comes to my door and says 911 call was routed from my apt, wtf?

I don't even have a house phone, just a cell phone. Yet this cop says a 911 call was routed from my apartment. I was like, "I don't even have a landline here."
Then he's like, "OK, thanks........do you have some I.D. so I can give a name of someone I talked to?"
I gave him my I.D. and he called in my name and birthdate then left.
No big deal I guess.
But if I don't have a house phone, wouldn't they know that?
The guy right below me sells dope so maybe this is somehow related?
