BBBV (now with extra Beat)
Bankroll is up to $475. I usually play small stake SNGs.
Been taking shots at $3/$6 and $5/$10 limit games recently. It's been working well. Sat down at a HU $20/$40 Limit table yesterday. Guy is sitting with a $4000 stack. Don't care - only limit. Not scared, I bring my whole roll with me. First hand I'm big blind - he folds $10 to me. Nice. Almost got up and left but.... let's see one more hand. Dealt AQ o/s on the button. Raise, he re-raises, I call. Pot is $160 (I know the math doesn't add up - bear with me). Flop is J 7 5 rainbow. He bets $120. I've been playing alot of HU SNGs lately, and this feels like a steal to me. Still think I'm good. I call. I then notice that I just called $120. Why was that last call not a $20 call? WTF! OMG! This is NL. So screwed! Then the beautiful Q on the turn. SOOOO glad I sat at the wrong table now. Gonna double up and have a sweet story to tell BBV. What it do! Please bet into me! Please bet into me! Please bet into me! He bets into me for $200. I insta-raise all in. He insta-calls and I expect to see J-10, K-J or a straight draw. Wrong. He shows me AA. Think I almost threw up. I'm no balla, $475 is big money to me... Need a Q on the river. Q please-k-thnx! River......... (Drumroll).......... not a Q. Don't remember what it was. He scoops the pot. I lost it all. Sigh. Beat - Request $300 cashout and go busto before it's processed. Beat - Sat on NL table thinking it was Limit. Brag - Made some $4000 stack waste his mighty pocket aces to win my meager bankroll of only $475. Variance - Got what I deserve for trying to be a Shortstacking Hit N' Runner? |
