This thread was posted on another board I frequent. Doing a search, some threads skirt around the subject, but I didn't find anything definitive that had everything in one place.
Here it is: You're sending a average joe to the 1/2 NL tables at your local casino (vegas, tunica, etc) with 2 buyins. He knows the etiquette and basic structure of the game... but knows absolutely nothing about strategy. What 5 rules would you give him to follow that would send him into this game with a fighting chance. Typical 1/2 NL table rules apply... let's assume the following: • No max buyin... average stack is 300-400 bucks • He has two $200 buyins • Standard preflop raise is 5-10 bucks (raised 50-60% of the time) • Typically 3-4 folks per flop • 1-2 LAGS - 1-2 Solid players - Remaining players are decidedly average Could you give him a fighting chance with just 5 rules to follow? |
