I do something similar to EL D, I have a word document that I keep open all the time on my computer, it has a heading with each day of the week, and it is basically a crude daily planner, on the 2nd page is where I jot down the the to do stuff/and notes, then when I cradle the axim to get the notes I made on the road, I cut and paste the 2nd pages' notes to the days that I plan on getting them done.
