Free Software Thread

I was on another forum recently and found a section called downloads very useful. It contains a bunch of links to open source or other free programs that are useful. While I don't think we need a whole section for this it might be nice to link something off the FAQ or start a sticky with this stuff.

Some Programs off the bat would be stuff like Open Office, thunderbird, Filezilla, winscp, gimp/gimpshop, free antivirus & firewall stuff, databases, IDEs, clean up programs, and other cool programs downloads people might find useful. If anybody cares I can compile an initial list of stuff. At least then when people are like I need this program to do this we can be like look in this topic.
