Re: Confession: I don\'t like Simpsons
[ QUOTE ]
As others have said, Blarg's comments are excellent. I recently saw some more episodes from season three, which is considered to be the best or second-best season by many people. Most of the episodes just reinforce the big problems I have with the show. Episodes like "Lisa's Pony" and "Saturdays of Thunder" have you feeling sorry for Homer. In "Saturdays of Thunder" it's the typical "son rejects dad's help at first and it's sad, but later they work together and their relationship grows." I do not want that [censored] crap in my comedies. I don't want to feel sad while watching a show that's supposed to be making me laugh. I hate it in garbage like Roseanne and Full House and the Cosby Show, and I hate it in Simpsons. In my view it's a large part of why almost all sitcoms are so infuriatingly bad. [/ QUOTE ] You must have despised Full House, that's all it was about. |
