Cats+Marijuana = ?

Ok, so my roomate has a cat. I'm usually home more often than my roomate, so I usually feed, give water, goof around with the cat more often than him. I opened w/ that so people are not like wtf, ur so cruel!! I'm a pretty hardcore pothead, and I was smokin some dank ass weed (brag obv, this [censored] like 9.5/10) and cat was chillin by me, and I just heard recently for the first time ever you are supposted to blow it in their ear, not in their face. Being that I'm not a complete moran, I googled it first. Found a couple posts in random forums saying, "for sure that [censored] works". Read some more professional sites saying, bad for cats health, etc, don't do it.

Anyway, after blowing like 4-5 rips towards his ear, he chilled for a few minutes. Got up and took what seemed to be his longest drink of water ever (1 minute+, usually like 30 seconds maybe) ate some meow mix for a couple minutes, then drank water for almost another minute. Hopped back on the couch, and started staring at the ceiling. I don't follow his habits too intently, but it seemed rather abnormal as I've never seen him staring at the ceiling for no reason before.

So, am I just some retarded pothead imagining this, is it a myth that blowing smoke in their ears works?
