Re: Official 2006-2007 College Hockey Thread
I was busy last night, so I didn't get to the game, but Clarkson beat St. Lawrence 3-1 in Potsdam. From what I saw on TV, the game looked pretty even despite St. Lawrence having a big shot advantage and a few extra powerplays.
Clarkson picked up a late power play goal in the first period to take a 1-0 lead that held until the start of the 3rd period when St. Lawrence got a shorthanded goal. Around the 11 minute mark of the third, Clarkson's Shawn Weller appeared to score his second power play goal of the game, but the goal was disputed and was reviewed. The announcers did say that it was the first time that video review was used in an ECAC game this year, although I wouldn't treat that as gospel. The goal was overturned and Clarkson scored a second goal that counted about a minute later before adding a empty netter at the end. This game moves St. Lawrence and Clarkson into a four way tie for second in the ECAC one point behind Cornell, each with a game in hand. |
