Simple Dual Monitor Question

I use my laptop by itself around 75% of the time, but when im playing quite a few tables I hook up my LCD. I know there is a shortcut you can press to bypass going thru Properties>Settlings>Extend desktop....but Im not sure what the shortcut is....is there a universal one, or one specific to Dell laptops?
