playing well when running bad

anytime someone posts a downswing its inevitable to hear people saying you must be playing differently, and to an extent its definitely true, but is it even possible to play unaffected when your running really bad? based on human emotions alone i dont think it is possible. but what do you guys do to try to let it affect you as little as possible?
