Can I get away from a set and good odds?

For this hand, when he called my flop raise I had a feeling he had a heart which is why I did not lead the turn. Is this standard? Don't really have many reads, just got moved to this table but since I came he hadn't been playing too many hands.

For this next hand, I had a feeling I was beat when he re-raised me but I was getting around 4-1 odds, are you folding this or calling and re-evaluating the flop. I put him on a pocket pair 8's or higher and anywhere from A9o and up.
