Defend with mid pair
Decided to break this apart from my other hand becuase it was a bit different situation. Again this is at Will Hill, so table is 6 tight nits whom only seem to play high pocket pairs and AK, one semi loose guy, one new guy (Villian) and myself, whom has been pretty much card dead the entire night.
Ok so Villain is new, but given the site and the tightness of almost every other player at this level, I have to assume he is a wanker TAG too. William Hill 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 4 folds, Villian raises, 3 folds, Hero calls. Flop: (2.25 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Villain bets,Hero raises, Villain calls. Turn: (4.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Villain raises, Hero folds My main concern here is preflop. I have been told a few thousand hands at 6 max would help me out in situations like this. I hate my call and think a 3-bet would be better, but my MUBS is screaming at me to fold, so I think a unhappy medium was reached with the call. I think the turn is an easy fold, but dont know if the bet is a smart play, since I might be able to get to showdown for 1BB if villian checks through the turn fearing another check/raise. However like the earlier hand I posted a check here is again just asking villians to take bluffs at me. |
