take any song that was at least mildly popular in the rock era...let's got back as far as "Rock Around the Clock"...
what is your choice for the very worst song ever? Mine: Dont't Take the Girl by Tim McGraw Horrible treacle of the first order. So manipulitive and corny...it takes three verses and tells a story through the years, sort of like Harry Chapin's Cats in the Cradle, but it does everything wrong imaginable. From McGraw's syrup-whiney vocals to the sacharin melody, to the pedestrian production...pure and utter drivel. Plus, if you do happen to get into the song, it doesn't bother to tell you what happens after the chick gets hurt - does she live, does she die?? The song ends before you know! So even after suffering through this piece of crap song to the end, you get no satisfaction of at least knowing what the hell happened! Worst song of all time. |
