Songs that everyone loves

I'm driving home from work today and "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin comes on the radio. It just made me think of songs that you can't possibly dislike. I'm not sure why I love that song, but I do. I suspect a lot of people like it partly because so many people are crazy about the movie it came from.

Maybe I'm a little crazy but it just seems like there are some songs that almost everyone loves. It doesn't matter what type of music you listen to: country, rock, rap, whatever. It also doesn't seem to matter what type of person you are: age, gender, race, etc.

One place I notice this is in bars. When certain songs come on, a lot of people sing along and they do so loudly. Examples would be "Summer of '69," "Don't Stop Believin'," and "I Want You to Want Me." People love these songs almost invariably. Am I wrong?
