Ok, so I bank with a credit union. I am not sure if this is typical of all, but this credit union does not distribute cash in the branch. The only available option for obtaining cash at the branch is via the ATM.

Fine...whatever.

In the past, this was not an issue. If you needed more cash then the daily maximum ATM limit, you simply called customer server, supplied your ID information and requested an increase in the daily limit. No fuss, no muss.

Ummmm, unless it is after-hours and customer service is closed. Fine...again...whatever. I can play ball.

However! Recently, they have decided that this is not a good practice and have instituted a policy in that the daily limit approval must be "approved" by a supervisor.

Huh? WTF?? So basically, they are telling me that if I need more cash then the daily ATM limit...I need to call and ask my bank-mommy permission?? Uhhhh, no, that doesn't work for me.

"What are my other options?" I ask.

"Oh, you can always go into any bank that displays the VISA symbol and do a 'cash advance'!" The bank replies happily.

FINE...WTFever...again...I will play ball.

This was fine and worked for a couple of years...until today.

I walk into a bank, as I have many times in the past plunk down my ATM card complete with VISA logo and request a cash advance.

"Oh, I'm sorry sir, we do not do that from debit cards..." The teller tellers me.

"Ummmm, huh??" I ask. "Is that a VISA logo in your window or not???"

"Yes, of course it is, but we simply have a policy against this" The teller replies very geefully.

"sgep987hys5ea9pp9g5es;ihshgehgesou" I reply, as I storm out of the bank.


So then I call my credit union and ask...

"How do I gain access to my money, in the form of cash, in a [/i]reliable, consistent and timely fashion[/i]???"

<crickets>

They could not [censored] answer this question for me!

How do you gain access to your money deposited in a bank when you want/need it??
