Trouble with bet365
I'm not totally sure of the whole story, but for the sake of you guys I thought I needed to post this. Apparently, there are some issues with the the site Bet365. Many of you know about this, I'm sure. This is for those of you that have $$ in this site, and have not found out about this yet. A lot of you probably only read this and other strat forums, and since they offer pretty generous bonuses you likely play there and pad your bankroll at what are decently soft (not great, but certainly profitable) games. I talked this over with Matt (MrWookie) last night, and thought we should let the board know. I hesitated to do it b/c I'm green, and I don't want to go making accusations that are in any way innacurate. But you guys come first -- I want to protect ML posters first and foremost (and I would give up my mod status is a second to do so).
Okay -- enough long winded jibber jabber. Here's the haps: I have gotten from several (IMO reliable) sources that the site Bet365 is violating its own T&Cs. They have refused to pay many bonues to legitmate TAG players. I'm not talking 10/3 bonus nits, but 20/12 types who actually try to play well and win pots. This is very disturbing. They state clearly in thier T&Cs: [ QUOTE ] The offer is available to genuine players only, genuine players being ones that are active /participating in games with the intention of winning pots. Any players who attempt to abuse the offer by contributing only the small/big blinds with no intention to actively participate in games will forfeit the right to claim any bonus chips. [/ QUOTE ] You can see the problem. The good folks at Bet365 have willfully misinterpreted this to mean that anyone with a vpip, of say, under 30, is abusing thier bonus. This is a warning to those of you that have money in this site. Any site that breaks thier own rules like this is shady IMO. There is also an incident where a player alleges several hundred dollars of tournament fees were taken from him (link) . While this claim may or may not be legitimate, where there is smoke there is usually fire. (Bet365 even threated to sue the guy after taking his money! -- allegedly of course). Also, they were on the Bonuswhores list of blacklisted sites for several hours. They are no longer on that list, but have been taken off the list for Prima skins on the main page. Also, this whole thing is not to suggest that other Prima sites -- operated independently of Bet365 -- are not safe. (Gaming Club, for example, has been around much longer than Bet365, and is known as safe and reliable.) I know that for many of you guys, a couple of hundred dollars in poker BR means a lot more than is does to me. I am not a "the sky is falling" kind of guy as most of you know, and I doubt that most people will have any trouble getting out thier money (I didn't). But the getting out is good right now. It may or may not be later. I don't want to see any of you get hurt. So I thought I had to make this post. |
