Guys with $$ get more girls?

This seems to be the common belief held around here, yet I have never seen it in real life.

All the girls I meet and know seem to be of the same opinion: Guys who flaunt wealth come across as insecure and unattractive. Being successful (e.g. having a cool job or being talented) is attractive , but simply posessing cash or driving cool car does very little.

Are my friends in the minority, or are 2p2ers out of touch?
