IMO...

the main reason for new israeli fight against hezbolah is much wider. their prime goal is to get iran involved into war.

after lebanon, they will find the reason to attack syria, which is closely connected with iran and then they will get some 'reasonable' triggers why they will attack iran.
USA would put veto against any resolution against isreal and will stay behind all the time of war. uncommon, but US would leave all offensive part to israel and stay behind by giving a support in logistic and defence only.

forget europe, russia, china... i can imagine only one organization (beside US) that might prevent world of another war - OPEC.
