Does deep tissue massage \"release toxins\"?
Recently over dinner my stepbrother claimed that after after a rigorous deep tissue massage he noticed that his pee tended to be a deeper yellow and stronger in odor than normal. He claimed that this was because a deep tissue massage "releases toxins," which are then flushed out via peeing.
I chimed in that this sounded like it might be pseudoscience mumbo jumbo but he claimed it as fact. He happens to have a PhD in physical therapy so he's presumably not completely talking out of his ass, yet I remain uconvinced. A cursory Google search has proved fruitless. What say you, OOT? Argle bargle, or fooferall?
