"Remember Password" on Poker Sites?

Do any of the computer gurus out there know if checking this option on the various poker sites saves your info somewhere on your harddrive (where it could potentially be compromised)? I sure wouldn't mind not having to type my login info every time, but obviously not if there's any risk in having it saved.
