Default Re: The refs have drastically favored the Heat so far.

Detroit was and is the better team, but Miami played better in the last 6 games. I don't see why that's such a difficult concept people have been arguing about it for like a page and a half now.

Because you are wrong. The last time Detroit was definitively better than Miami was December. Miami is now clearly and definitively the better team.

Detroit backers keep pointing to the regular season as their defense. Yes, 82>6, but these 6 are so much more important than those 82. You play those 82 to get in to the playoffs, to get the best possible seeding to make your path easiest, and to get homecourt advantage. You play those to build your team to peak into May/June.

Miami lost games in November with Shaq out. They lost games in December as a half-dozen new guys learned to play with Shaq. By February, Miami was clicking. They built the team to peak when needed. They smoked the Nets and earned extra rest. Then they overcame the homecourt advantage that the Pistons earned by winning in Detroit.

Nobody who ever played at a highly competitive level would think the way you appear to be. The Pistons were not sitting around last night thinking "hey, at least we were the better team..."
