I think the best rule change would be to not announce the identity of anyone who gets killed. Because the villagers are destroying these games. I was in one in OOT where we lynched our angel the first day and they ate the seer the second night and the villagers still won.

Edit: I think this is because our wolf/villager ratio are based off games with no seer and no angel. An alternative rule change would be to lose one or both of those characters.
